Le Puy du Fou
The must-see theme park in Vendée
You can’t come to Vendée without experiencing Puy Du Fou.
Whether it’s La Cinéscénie or Le Grand Parc, it’s a must-see event that surprises every time. The Puyfollais have taken up the (successful) challenge of transporting us to the heart of history, harmoniously blending adventure, magic and emotion.
We all have our own eras and emblematic characters: boys dream of being a Viking or a knight, girls dream of being Eleanor with her falcons or Margaret with her magic spear… and vice versa.
My favorites:
- N°1 Le Signe du Triomphe is simply incredible, set in a “real” Gallo-Roman stadium
- N°2 Le Bal des oiseaux fantômes, magical and spectacular
- N°3 Richelieu’s musketeers, marvellous and romantic.
My advice: if this is your first visit, it’s now impossible to take in all the shows in one day, so plan your program with a few must-sees and leave some time to wander through the different eras, and let yourself be surprised by the little street shows (the magic show is top-notch!) that you won’t have scheduled.
Camping in Vendée near Puy du Fou
Located around 1 hour from the Puy-du-Fou park, our two campsites in Vendée will enable you to enjoy the Vendée coastline while organizing one or more days at the Puy-du-Fou . The 5-star Acapulco campsite in Saint-Jean-de-Monts covers an area of 10 hectares, just a stone’s throw from the beach. For families who want to stay right at the heart of the campsite, there’s a host of fun activities for children and teenagers. The campsite’s aquatic area is a veritable water paradise, with a wave pool and two sensational slides. In terms of accommodation, the campsite offers a range of options to suit your needs, from pitches for caravans, tents or motorhomes, to mobile homes.
Camping Le Château in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez offers a natural haven of peace and fun. Our 5-star water park includes an indoor pool with a myriad of activities for children aged three and over, while thrill-seekers can enjoy the funny-park with its giant slides and inflatables. Just 1 hr 20 min away, you’ll find the Puy-du-Fou park for the whole family.
From our campsites, coach excursions are organized to enjoy the park and the show in complete peace of mind. Ideal on Fridays for stays of 10 days or more. If you’re going on your own, make sure you book in advance (reservations are compulsory for the Cinescénie) and consult the program to make sure you don’t miss anything.
